OpenSkies
is Customizable
The
OpenSkies Training System's design allows you to customize just
about everything according to your needs:
- OpenSkies
uses Loadable Simulation Modules
- Dynamically loaded libraries (DLLs), based on open C++ source
code, that describe behavior and appearance of all sim objects.
You could join a collaborative environment, or share your contributions
with the OpenSkies community.
-
OpenGL based model graphics
-
Real Aircraft Behavior Models
- T34 single engine aircraft and TH57 helicopters.
-
Realistic cause/effect scenarios
- OpenSkies supports real military training exercises. You can
create your own adventures and even share them with others.
-
Real Audio
- Supports DirectSound and prerecorded ATC. Plane to plane chat
is in development.
- Programmable
interactions between objects
- You can implement collisions, damage and even more complex AI
interactions over the net between players and vehicles.
-
Force Feeback
- Cool force feedback that you can't ignore from the real flight
models. Works on all DirectX compatible devices including I-Force®
controllers such as CH Products®, Logitech®, and ThrustMaster®
devices as well as Microsoft® force feedback devices.
- Editable
Terrain
- Create your terrain based on USGS data or other terrain formats.
Weather cells with wind layers are supported for realistic conditions.
-
Communications protocols
-
Supports the military's High Level Architecture (HLA) standard
for simulation networking. HLA promotes interoperability between
different simulations.
